PLEASE NOTE – there will be NO ENGINE SHED SESSION in Reading on Sat 28 May. This is because there will be a free Autistic Pride event at Prospect Park railway on Sun 29 May from 11 am to 4pm. JJ, our train volunteer, hopes to be there with trains to play with (to go with the ride-on ones). Hope to see you there!

Great Day Out to The Autism Show
Parents and carers had a great day out to The Autism Show in London on Saturday 13 June, supported by a grant from The Big Lottery. The coach left Reading at 8am and we returned around 6pm, having spent 6 hours listening to speakers, talking to exhibitors and gathering lots of information. We hope to have another trip next year.

Reading Engine Shed Santa Train Ride Sat 6 December
The Engine Shed in Reading is having a Santa Train Ride on Saturday 6 December at the lovely Cholsey & Wallingford Railway. We will have our own carriage and will meet Father Christmas on the train, as well as Mother Christmas who will be giving out mince pies or equivalent 🙂
Timing: Arrival at 11.40 for the train departure at 12 midday. Please note that this trip is booked for the 12 o’clock departure and we cannot accommodate late arrivals (because we’ll be gone!). The journey is about 15 mins each way with a stop at the next station of 10 to 15 mins. We will be done by 1pm and there is a small tea shop etc on site.
There are limited places – please email Sarah at reading@theengineshed.org.uk if you would like to be put on the list. Do I need to say that you are responsible for your own children? Of course not! There is no charge of course.
We look forward to getting you all excited for Christmas!

JJ’s Pony Tail
JJ’s Fundraising Pony Tail is nearly ready! – JJ, our train volunteer at the Reading Engine Shed, is approaching retirement and has been collecting sponsorship money, with people guessing how long his pony tail has reached by the magic day. The Engine Shed session on Saturday 26 October at Katesgrove Children’s Centre will see the announcement of the winner, who gets to snip it off and win something for themselves too.
